Here is the rule about shingles.

If you have never had chicken pox you can catch it from somebody with shingles, but once you have had chicken pox you can get shingles at any time that your immunity is low. The virus is living within you and comes out if you don't constantly protect yourself.

Certain "stressful" conditions as well a simply getting old can lower your immunity against the virus and trigger an attack of shingles. In CLL it can happen at any time, but treatment with fludarabine or other immunosuppressive drugs also brings it out.

You can have shingles more than once.
